July 20 to July 23 - Mission Trip to McCurdy Ministries
July 26 - UWFaith Picnic at Sarah Riehm's Home
Join us for a mission trip to McCurdy Ministries Community Center in Espanola, NM. McCurdy is a historic mission of the Methodist Church. Originally it was a boarding school, but now is a community center providing a variety of services including: a preschool, counseling services, a clothing and school supply service. They are currently developing a Youth Library, and this is an area in which we have expressed interest in working. We plan to donate items to support children and youth in the Espanola Valley and help prepare their new Youth Library. There will be opportunities for construction, sorting and filing books, as well as mentoring youth attending a special Reading Day Camp. It is possible that we will also work on other campus projects.
Schedule:
· Departure 12:30 Sunday, July 20, after the second service.
· Sunday afternoon, visit the Santuario de Chimayo and have dinner at a traditional New Mexican restaurant, Rancho de Chimayo.
· Monday morning, tour the McCurdy Ministries facilities and then start work projects.
· Tuesday and Wednesday morning, continue work projects.
· Wednesday afternoon, depart for Pagosa around 2:30, arriving home around 5:00

Please contact the church office if you are aware of a church member, neighbor or other community member who would benefit from a prepared meal. It could be due to illness or other circumstances or isolation. It doesn't matter. Our goal is to raise their spirits and let them know that God is present with them through our community.
